October is soon upon us and that means it’s time for the annual EiG iGaming conference. The 2015 edition of the popular industry expo will be running from the 20th to the 22nd of October and will be situated in the beautiful city of Berlin in Germany. If previous years expos are anything to go by, this will hopefully be an inspirational 3 day event, hosting some of the biggest names in the iGaming industry and seen as an opportunity to share ideas and also as an open forum to tackle some of the key issues affecting the iGaming industry today.
Covering the whole iGaming spectrum, the EiG iGaming conference offers the chance to meet with investors, online gambling operators and software publishers alongside affiliates, digital agencies and various companies from newly emerging markets in the iGaming sector. Over the three days there will be a mix of key note speeches, think tank and creative group sessions and companies exhibiting during the expo. This all helps to encourage better business practice and allows people to think and engage with clients and partners over a much broader spectrum of business issues.
An impressive mix of speakers“The gaming industry should portray itself in a more confident and positive manner”.
A big theme for this year will be the introduction of eSports into the gambling sector and we will see a real mix of speakers from the industry including William Hill Chairman Gareth Davis, Liam Wallwork the Director of Gaming at Betfair, Chief of Data at Betsson Steven Plimbett and Robin Chhabra the Head of Strategy for William Hill Online to name a few.
In particular William Hill Chairman Gareth Davis was quoted this week as saying he believes that “the gaming industry should portray itself in a more confident and positive manner”, referring mainly to the negative press the gambling industry gets even though it’s heavily regulated. This outlines the theme of his speech for the conference as he gets set to deliver an explosive presentation in October titled ‘Improving Industry Reputation’.
There are also a number of speakers not directly linked to the gambling industry but who also operate in cutting edge creative industries and will share insights into their working methodologies with particular regard to related topics like omni channel strategy delivery, reputation management and innovation in devices. These include Head of Digital at ITV News Jason Mills and Andreas Hoffman, the Senior Director of Publishing at Samsung, as well as a whole host of speakers from these and other industries.
Promoting the industry as a whole
During the exhibition, companies are given the floor to promote their capabilities in the marketplace as well as welcome top influencers to view their brands but you don’t have to be a huge multinational company to be involved either. EiG offers a great opportunity for start-ups with limited marketing budgets by including a dedicated ‘Start-up Village’ on the show floor to promote investment in new technology and business.
Among the companies attending and exhibiting this year will be online casino software giants Microgaming, Playtech and iSoftBet. There’s a lot of diversity in gaming types this year and we will also see exhibitions from Golden Race who provide virtual football and pre-recorded video race solutions as well as Gamevy, who bring TV Gameshows online in combination with huge jackpots.
Other sectors of the iGaming industry being represented at the expo include Sports Betting, Online Lotteries, Mobile Gaming, Data and Security companies, Software Testing companies and also Gambling Licensing Authorities.
Looking ahead to Berlin 2015
This year’s EiG iGaming conference looks to be a really impressive event and the general theme seems to be that of promoting and growing the iGaming business together as partners rather than competitors. It will also be a key event in terms of identifying and helping to develop future trends in the market and how to move forward as an industry despite ever changing regulations.
The EiG iGaming conference will take place at Arena Berlin in Berlin Germany from Tuesday the 20th until Thursday the 22nd of October 2015. For tickets and further information please visit the official EiG Expo website.
