This year’s G2E Global Gaming Expo is set to kick off in just under a week’s time at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Running from September 28th until October 1st 2015, the USA’s largest gambling Trade Show will see some of the biggest names in land based gambling and iGaming coming together to unveil new products and technology as well as share insider knowledge and expertise through a variety of in depth seminars, key note speeches and round table discussions. Alongside the usual networking, education and business opportunities, the expo will feature the 2015 awards ceremony for the much coveted Global Gaming Awards.
This year’s G2E Global Gaming Expo is likely to be an incredible event, showcasing the depth of talent across the industry as well as highlighting important issues that affect different areas of the gaming sector in the US and worldwide.
What to expect at G2E 2015
The G2E Global Gaming Expo will feature the largest expo show floor in North America with over 450 exhibitors attending this year’s event. A big part of this will be dedicated to the iGaming Zone, where you can meet with some of the biggest names in iGaming and preview exciting new online gaming products and technology. There will also be what the organizers call an ‘Integrated Resort Experience’ which is in essence a casino property event showcasing cutting edge technology, industry changing products and new services that enhance land based casino operations and help operators generate new clients and strengthen loyalty ties with existing patrons.
Seminars this year will focus on some very important issues including Compliance and Regulatory Law, Indian and Tribal Gaming, The Role of Women in iGaming and also Security. There will be talks aimed at the blossoming US iGaming market; the impact of legalized online gambling in the US and how to overcome negative factors such as heavy industry regulation as well as how to adapt to the ever changing nature of the industry by adopting the newest trends in online betting, such as the current E-Sports phenomenon.“There is a particular emphasis on the future of the US online gambling market, following speculation about other US states such as California becoming regulated online gambling jurisdictions.”
We will see a dedicated cybersecurity summit that details the recently released cybersecurity framework from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) on how to protect your businesses against cyber-attacks. There will also be a conference hosted by the National Center for Responsible Gambling (NCRG) centring on Problem Gambling and Addiction.
Global Gaming Awards 2015
The award ceremony for the Global Gaming Awards, which will honour those companies and figureheads that have been recognised as innovators within the iGaming industry, will also be held during the 2015 G2E Global Gaming Expo. This year will feature 12 awards, each with 10 nominees per category, including the coveted ‘Digital Operator of the Year’ and ‘Land Based Operator of the Year’. Other categories include ‘Digital Product of the Year’ and ‘Casino Product of the Year’ as well as awards designed to recognise excellence within digital acquisitions, customer loyalty, innovation and business management. There’s even an award that recognises the achievements of gambling industry executives in their respective fields.
This year’s judges are a mix of people from within different sectors of the industry itself including software and technology development, recruitment, regulatory commissions and also industry’s that play support roles to different parts of the iGaming industry. This includes judges from companies such as Google, Morgan Stanley and Facebook. The judges will be presented with a list of 120 nominees along with statements from each to support their nominations. They will then vote for winners and one runner up for each of the 12 categories using a simple online voting system. Previous year’s winners include IGT, Microgaming, MGM Resorts International, Net Entertainment and 888 casinos.

To say that this event will be impressive would probably be a bit of an understatement, this year’s offerings look like overshadowing previous expos by a country mile. There is a particular emphasis on the future of the US online gambling market, following speculation about other US states such as California becoming regulated online gambling jurisdictions, so everybody with a vested interest in seeing how the industry will develop most certainly will be in attendance.
