We just love a story when it’s for a good cause. Last September, on the beautiful island of Malta, the iGaming community came together to raise money for 3 very worthy charities. 15 iGaming companies battled it out at event called Malta Sports Day, in a very sporting manner of course, and went on to raise a total of €15,000 for good causes.
Bringing iGaming together for a Great Cause
Held at the Marsa Sports and Athletics Complex, the event was designed to bring the iGaming industry on the island closer together while giving back to the community at the same time. Local charities that benefitted include the Re/Max and Friends Foundation, Puttinu Cares (a children’s cancer charity) and Inspire Malta.
It comes as no surprise that two of the events many organisers; Dennis Dyhr-Hansen and Eman Pulis, are the brains behind the successful SiGMA iGaming conference. SiGMA is an excellent industry event, which has always strived to bring together the iGaming community in Malta, developing stronger ties and relationships across both the island and the online gambling industry as a whole.“It’s a great event to meet fellow professionals from the igaming industry. Racing in 32-degree heat was difficult to say the least but really good fun!”

Battling it out for iGaming Glory!
The day itself was a fun mix of different sporting events, with each iGaming company fielding their best and brightest, or in a few cases their least hung-over, in the hope of securing some kudos and lots of money for charity. There were Track and Field events like 60m Hurdles and Shot Put, plus other extremely fun novelty races and competitive games like Sack Racing and Tug of War.
iGame Group emerged as the eventual victors on the day after obliterating the competition in many of the scheduled sporting events, but everyone involved had a good time in the sun and raised quite a lot of money for three really deserving local charities.
Malta Sports Day in 2016
The 2nd annual Malta Sports Day is currently being planned and is expected to draw an even bigger attendance than the previous year, with even more iGaming companies selflessly joining up to compete for fun and raise money for such worthy charities.
If you want to get involved in the 2016 event and help raise some money for worthy causes, you can register your company team over at the official Malta Sports Day website where you will find the information needed for registration and all about the actual event itself. If you wish to donate you can find all the details on the same website.
