SiGMA 2019 has recently finished, and it saw yet another record-breaking attendance. When this iGaming convention was first launched back in 2014, 1,000 people attended. With each passing year, that figure has grown and grown, and it is estimated that around 15,000 people attended this latest edition, which is an increase of 3,000 on last year's attendance. We expect it to be even higher next year.
What Were the 4 Best Parts of SiGMA 2019?
On each of the three days, there was barely space to move inside the MFCC in Ta'Qali (Malta - Europe), such were the number of attendees. So, what were the highlights of this year's edition?
#1 - A Fantastic Expo
We think it is safe to assume that everyone who stepped on to the expo floor for the first time this year had the same conundrum of not knowing where to cast their eyes. "[...] on the 8th and 9th of June next year, all attention will turn towards the inaugural SiGMA Manila convention[...]" From the moment you walked through the doors, you were greeted by an array of eye-catching stands begging for your attention. There was also a cacophony of sounds that drew you one way and then the other. As you walked around you were greeted by some of the largest iGaming companies in the world showing off their latest fantastic software and games in the hope that they could thrash out deals with like-minded business people. Over the course of the three days, the expo floor was certainly the best place to be for those wanting to mix pleasure with business.
#2 - Some Great Debates
For those who love a good old debate, there were a number of highly interesting workshops and conferences on offer. From discussions about blockchain and Bitcoins to slot games to eSports and bookmakers to finance to compliance and regulation, the iGaming sector was definitely discussed in full. Those who took the time to go to any of these discussions definitely went home at the end of the day with more knowledge than what they started it with.
#3 - Another Hard-Fought SiGma Pitch
Each year, SiGMA gives newcomers the opportunity to win a spot on the expo floor, invitations to highly popular networking events, and exposure in the event's magazine and on their website. Prizes that are definitely worth fighting for. This year, a number of fantastic start-ups battled it out, but Bethereum were crowned the winners. You should definitely keep a lookout for their interview in the SiGMA magazine.
#4 - Top Quality Nightly Entertainment
The fun didn't stop when the evening arrived, that is for certain. Once again, the organizers ensured that everyone was thoroughly entertained over the course of the three evenings. They arranged a fantastic awards dinner, a Thanksgiving dinner, some boxing bouts, a poker tournament, and a closing party which ended the event in the style it deserved.
So What is on the Agenda Next?
Well, on the 8th and 9th of June next year, all attention will turn towards the inaugural SiGMA Manila convention, which will be held at the SMX Convention Centre in Manila. spread out across 10,000 square meters, this will be the largest venue so far. There will around 300 exhibits and around 6,000 people from all over the world are expected to attend over the two days to take part in some fantastic conferences and workshops. This is an event that you really wouldn't want to miss out on.
